Vietnam and Japan are poised to deepen their bilateral ties across several domains, including diplomacy, security, trade, and technology, as both nations seek to bolster their comprehensive strategic partnership. This announcement comes as Japanese Foreign Minister Motegi Toshimitsu extended a message of solidarity on the occasion of Vietnam’s 81st National Day, emphasizing a shared vision of mutual prosperity.
Japan’s commitment to enhancing relations with Vietnam was further underscored by Japanese Finance Minister Katayama Satsuki, who highlighted the potential for collaboration in critical sectors such as finance, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and energy. Katayama noted that such cooperation could not only fuel economic growth but also contribute to regional stability in Asia.
On the Vietnamese side, Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu remarked that the current phase of Vietnam-Japan relations is the strongest yet. He pointed out significant strides in areas like science and technology, innovation, and the development of skilled human resources, emphasizing their complementary economic strengths and growing mutual trust.
The two countries have also focused on strengthening parliamentary exchanges and enhancing people-to-people ties, with Vietnam’s substantial community in Japan playing a pivotal role in supporting economic and social connections.
