SAKEANI JAPAN Inc. is set to launch “Kokushu Seijo,” a unique subscription service that marries the delivery of Japanese sake and shochu with innovative audio content narrated by professional voice actors. Scheduled to debut in September 2026, this service aims to enrich subscribers’ experience by providing quarterly shipments of these traditional beverages, each accompanied by audio narratives. These narratives will explore stories about the breweries involved, delve into their brewing methods, and highlight regional history and cultural traditions, offering both a taste and a tale with every delivery.
The service is inspired by “MIZUNO MANIMANI,” an original storytelling project featuring a fictional water dragon deity and spirits linked to Japanese breweries. With an eye on expanding its appeal, the company is also contemplating an animated adaptation of this storyline. The concept was inspired by feedback from a December 2025 launch event in Tokyo that attracted about 5,800 attendees. A survey of 511 participants revealed a strong interest in learning about the historical and cultural aspects of Japanese sake, with many expressing a preference for narratives provided by voice actors over other forms of entertainment.
SAKEANI JAPAN is not confining its ambitions to the domestic market alone. The company plans to introduce “Kokushu Seijo” internationally, starting with a promotional appearance at JapanFest in Atlanta. This move is part of a broader strategy to promote Japanese culture and traditional alcoholic beverages on a global scale. To facilitate this international expansion, SAKEANI JAPAN is in discussions with partners across distribution, media, events, and the entertainment industry.
Founded in March 2026 and headquartered in Tokyo, SAKEANI JAPAN operates across various sectors, including event production, digital content creation, e-commerce, and alcoholic beverage sales. The company’s mission encompasses cultural business development, and with “Kokushu Seijo,” it aims to blend education with enjoyment, offering a novel way to explore the rich heritage of Japanese sake and shochu. The careful crafting of this service reflects a growing trend towards experiential and educational consumption, tapping into a market eager to engage with cultural narratives alongside traditional products.
